PT6 maintenance questions
What is a PT6 hot section inspection?
A hot section inspection (HSI) examines the parts of a PT6A engine that run hottest: the combustion liner, compressor turbine vane ring, and compressor turbine disk and blades. It catches heat damage, cracking and erosion early. We report findings to you before any work proceeds.
When is a PT6 hot section inspection or overhaul due?
At the interval your maintenance program calls for, which depends on the engine and how the aircraft is operated. Send us the engine serial number, hours and cycles since new and since overhaul, and the date of the last hot section, and we'll tell you where your engine stands.
What is the PT6 MORE Program?
MORE (Maintenance on Reliable Engines) is a program for the PT6A-114A that can increase engine TBO to 8,000 hours. It involves initial inspections, vibration and oil analysis, external component exchange, fuel nozzle overhaul and engine instrument calibration. We can add your aircraft to the program.
